Ceriel graduated in 1999 with a MSc degree in Applied Physics from Delft University of Technology. He subsequently joined Shell and worked as reservoir engineer in the UK. He worked on several field developments in the southern gas basin and subsequently on production optimisation of several oil fields. In 2008 he joined Petro-Canada in the Netherlands as senior reservoir engineer, working on operated and non-operated oil and gas fields. In 2011 Ceriel joined Oranje-Nassau Energie with responsibilities for technical and economic evaluation of acquisition opportunities, asset management and general commercial activities. In his current role as Sean Asset Manager, Ceriel is responsible for the development activities by the Sean subsurface team, JV and government relations, and commercial affairs.
